About Sarah: Hi, I’m Sarah Gearhart, owner, artist, and creative heart behind Gearhart Design Co. I was born in Iowa but raised in Marietta, Georgia, where I live and run my business today. I graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2013 with a degree in Sport Management and began my career in college athletics, but quickly realized I was meant for something a little more colorful. That realization led me to manage a local pottery studio - an unexpected but perfect fit. Just one week after my 27th birthday, I took a leap and bought the business. It was there I discovered my true calling: sharing my love of art with others. After several fulfilling years, I sold the studio and moved back to Marietta at the end of 2019 to be closer to family. I launched Gearhart Design Co. shortly after to scratch that ever-present creative itch. What started as a side hustle has now become my full-time job - offering sweetly snarky stationery, custom paper goods for fellow small businesses, and fun, hands-on art classes throughout metro Atlanta. In what little free time I have, you can find me devouring anything written by Karin Slaughter, buying yet another house plant I definitely don’t have room for, and hanging out with my three awesome nieces and nephew who keep life extra fun.
