Cobb Women in Business

We are a women's open networking* group with chapters meeting in East Cobb and West Cobb. We also have a business book club, social events, accountability partner program, and volunteer for charity events.

Bring a stack of business cards and your 60 second elevator pitch. Donate a door prize and you'll get an extra ticket for the prize drawing.

At the end of the meeting we will pair you with another business woman for a "networking assignment" to meet with her for coffee or lunch before the next meeting. Those who complete their assignment are eligible for the Accountability Award drawing at the following lunch!

*Meaning we are NOT limited to 1 person per industry

Ways to Get Involved!

We invite you to build relationships by commenting on our weekly posts and participating with our "Friday Follow" event where we support each other on social media. This is not a group for you to post about your business and have no other interaction with members. There are other groups designed for promoting your business and we ask you to seek them out to meet that need. We do offer specific posts/times to share about your business. Our book club reads 9 business or personal development books each year. We take July and Dec off for family activities and Nov is our planning session for the following year. Our discussions take place on Zoom on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 10 am. It is not required to have read all of the book in order to participate in the discussion. The book selections for each month are listed in the events section on the website and published in the Facebook group. Click here to view upcoming events.

We will try to match you with a partner or you can bring your own. The goal is to encourage each other and hold the other accountable for reaching goals. You decide how often to meet and if it will be in person or by Zoom/phone/text. I.e., some partners text every Monday. Some meet in person once per month and touch base by phone the other weeks. Some meet on Zoom every other week. We also have a quarterly group meeting on Zoom to check in on progress, what's working, what's not. Mercy Mats, organized by Rebecca Deutsch. Bring plastic grocery bags to either chapter meeting and Rebecca will transport them to Transfiguration Catholic Church to be made into Mercy Mats for the homeless. Click here for more info on this initiative.
Creative Writing Program, organized by Terri Whitmire. No training or experience needed. Volunteer as a teacher's aid in an elementary school classroom with Lift2Enrich. Time commitment is either 1.5 or 3 hours. Click here for more info on this organization.

Every spring and fall we host a retreat for 10-12 ladies Thursday - Sunday. Cost is approximately $200 including lodging and meals. Come late or leave early if you need to. The locations are less than a 2-hour drive from Atlanta, the cabins we stay at have a work room, and every person gets a 6-foot table. Work on your business or a hobby (like scrapbooking, sewing, painting, card making, etc.) or simply relax, sleep late, read, watch movies etc. Details are posted in the events section.
