About Elizabeth: I’m a born-and-raised Southerner living in East Cobb with my husband, our three teenage sons, and our two dogs. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Ole Miss and my MSW from the University of Alabama—but my team loyalty is still firmly with the Rebels! I stepped away from work for nearly two decades to be a full-time stay-at-home mom and caregiver. During that time, I advocated for my own neurodiverse child and cared for both my mother and mother-in-law through their journeys with Alzheimer’s. I’m also a breast cancer survivor and live with a chronic illness, which gives me deep compassion for women juggling caregiving, health challenges, and their own identity. These experiences inspired me to return to the field and create a therapy practice grounded in empathy, resilience, and real-life experience. When I can find a quiet moment, I love gardening, audiobooks, and road trips.
Business Description: At Rise Gently Therapy, I help burned-out women—especially moms and caregivers—who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in survival mode. Many of my clients come to therapy exhausted from caring for everyone else and unsure how to care for themselves. I provide a compassionate space where they can slow down, feel heard, and begin to heal. Together, we work on managing anxiety, setting boundaries, rebuilding self-trust, and finding clarity in life transitions. My approach blends clinical tools like CBT and mindfulness with real-life experience as a mom, caregiver, and cancer survivor. Sessions are available in East Cobb and virtually throughout Georgia.
Ideal Customer: I work primarily with burned-out women who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from themselves—often moms, caregivers, or women navigating big life transitions. Many of my clients have spent years taking care of everyone else and are finally ready to focus on their own healing. I especially love working with moms of neurodiverse kids and women who are trying to rebuild their identity after caregiving, chronic stress, or personal loss. My ideal clients are looking for a therapist who really gets it—someone who brings clinical expertise and lived experience to the work.
Good Referral Partners: I love connecting with professionals who also support women and families, especially: Pediatricians and developmental specialists School counselors and parent support staff Therapists with full caseloads or different specialties Women’s health providers (OB/GYNs, pelvic floor PTs, etc.) Coaches or professionals working with burned-out moms or caregivers Faith-based leaders and church staff involved in women’s or caregiving ministries If you work with women who are overwhelmed, anxious, caregiving, or simply needing a safe space to feel heard—I’d love to connect and support them.
Trusted Professions You Can Ask Me For An Intro To: I’m happy to connect you with trusted professionals in: Pediatric therapy (OT, speech, feeding, ABA, and more) Neurodiversity-affirming coaches and consultants Mental health providers with different specialties Educational advocates and academic coaches Women’s wellness practitioners Local family-centered nonprofits and support groups If you’re looking to build a supportive network around parenting, caregiving, or women’s health—I likely know someone who can help!
